Today I'm going to give you a 100% guaranteed way to hit your goal or, at a worst case, identify precisely what you need to improve to hit your goal.

It's a no fail way to get where you want to be.

First up, you need to set your ultimate goal.

This is deeply personal and everyone will be different. It's important to note there's no right or wrong and I want you to take your time to truly work out what you want to achieve with your health and fitness.

If you aren't clear on your ultimate goal then stop reading this and go and grab some downtime and actually work it out.

And work out why that is your ultimate goal.

When you've done that you need to work out what daily and/or weekly actions will move you towards your goal.

And here's the secret that makes it all failsafe:

You have to track whether you have done your daily/weekly actions.

If in 30, 60, 90 days you can look back and say 'Ok I've hit my daily/weekly actions 90% of the time' then I guarantee you will have made considerable progress towards your goals.

If you review your actions and you can't say that you have done the actions you need to do to move you towards your goals then it's very unlikely you'll be making significant progress.

Does that make sense?

If you haven't tracked your daily/weekly actions then you're guessing whether you're making progress and it's highly unlikely you'll actually make progress.

So what does that look like in reality?

Ultimate Goal: Lose 14lbs of body fat

Daily Actions:

  • Drink 2l water
  • Eat a maximum of 1,400 calories
  • Exercise 3 times a week

Set up a simple spreadsheet on your phone or use Notes or whatever the android equivalent is.

Then at the end of every single day tick off your daily actions.

Review your progress every 30 days.

If at the end of 30 days you can prove that you've hit your daily actions 90% of the time, don't you think you'll have made great progress?

And if at the end of 30 days you're log shows that you've only hit your daily actions 40% of the time, don't you think it's pretty clear why you've not made the progress you'd like?

And if that is you then, great. You have a fantastic opportunity to correct your course and focus on the actions that you aren't hitting.
