So the media have been kicking up a storm as usual.

This time it's protein which has been getting a kicking.

Oh and fat as well. Apparently the daily express ran a piece about how fat is bad for you.

Hello? 1990 called and wants its nutrition advice back...

So based on the media over the last 3 years we can't eat:

  • carbs
  • sugar
  • protein
  • fat
  • fish oils
  • multi vitamins
  • fruit (!!)
I even saw an article a while back about how water is bad for us.Bloody hell.I've got an idea, let's not eat anything and just starve ourselves instead.

Really, people need to stop listening to the media. It's ok having differing views on optimum nutrition but one must remember that the main aim of the media is to sensationalise everything to sell papers.

Their main aim is not to pass on practical, quality, advice on healthy living. That wouldn't sell papers.

Speaking of differing views on nutrition I had a great chat with someone who is on the herbalife diet.

They had lost a lot of weight and were convinced it was fantastic.

But I just want to share with you an image I saw on the t'interweb. Here it is:

The meal on the left is what the calorie content of one of their meal replacement shakes would look like if it was real food.

No wonder this person lost weight eh?

Now I'm not here to bash herbalife, or any other company for that matter. No matter how much I disagree with their approach.

But I do want to say that weight loss isn't complicated.

There is too much pseudo-science and mumbo jumbo made out of losing weight.

People think it is some sort of black art. It really isn't.

That is why I want to help you get it right.

On the 1st of April (this is not an April Fools I promise!) I am organising an evening talk at Belle & Jerome in West Bridgford. It will run from about 6:30 to 9:00pm I reckon.

Then Rich Moore from Moore Osteopathy will be doing a talk on shoulders and giving some advice on what causes shoulder pain and some simple tips you can take on board to help enjoy pain free and injury free shoulders.

It's free to come along although it's limited to 25 places so if you want to reserve your place please hit the link to guarantee your seat.
